Evidence that comics are often more daring than film, this compromised adaptation falls back on Hollywood convention (boy gets girl, hero flies, shit blows up and more) supplanting the comic
’s darker tone. Chloe Moretz (as the foul-mouthed Hit-Girl) and Mark Strong are eminently enjoyable in this otherwise muddled superhero-verité.
